what would cause this

much oil to be in the holes where the spark plugs are. Also the entire driver side of the engine was covered with oil and also there is oil in the intake tube, it looks like its coming from one or both of the hoses that hook up to the intake, and also what is that mesh cloth like stuff on the spark plug in the pictures below

PICS:

Check the pcv valve if there is oil in the intake tract. Not sure what would cause that much oil in the plug wells other than the valve cover. Cant be the hg or intake gasket that i know of. The cloth could be anything or just that, a cloth. Maybe someone before you tried cleaning the oil out and left something behind. That is A LOT of oil. Which plug was that or did all of them have oil? More pics of the oil on the engine if you could

that piece of cloth almost looks like a piece of the the woven cloth that shields the tube from the EGR to the exhaust manifold that I have seen on some older models

sorry I havent posted anymore pictures, I have been busy with school

also can I do without that black plastic thing in the top right corner of the picture(connected to the top hose of the intake, I don't even really know what it is, and the hose connected from that to the intake throttle body is completely soaked through with oil)

Isn't there some sort of gromet/gasket around the plug hole where the the tomayto/tomato valve cover goes against the head?
