fuse box moisture

I have a 2000 f-150 ford truck. The battery went dead, when I put a new one in, I got this this clicking under the dash by the brake pedal and the blower on the heater started up without the key in the ignition. I was told that fords that year had the windshied develope a leak and short the fuse box. One Ford dealer told me I could buy just the fuse box($300) and another one told me I would have to buy the fuse box+ wire harness($880). If anyone knows what up, I'd appreciate some info.

Sounds like what I'm going through, do your windows work too with the key off?

To tell you the truth, I didn't try them. I guess I'm a little teed off, I only have 86,000 miles on it and I just had had to replace the bolts in the manifolds and one manifold, the ball joints and now this. What happened to Ford Tough? The truck always stays in a garage.

the moisture is from the windshield leaking have it re-sealed and dry out the fuse box with a hairdryer should be able to get away with not replacing it if you dry it out quick
