i have a grinding/hum from the front end thats related to wheel speed but its loudest at 35-40 mph. Im thinking its the wheel bearing which is a whole assembly on these truck but could it be something else? Also i called the local parts stores and all the carry are some made in china special and this other brand call National Precision bearing, does anyone have experience with that brand?

I bought some hubs off ebay that were chinese (what isn't nowadays?) Anyways been on a few years and no problems. The important part is torqueing the spindle nut appropriately. This sets the bearings internally. They were PTC brand

i found the precision bearing on ebay for about $80 bucks and its $257 here in town, wow what a difference. The cheapest motorcraft bearing i found is $216. I dont know if i should replace the driver side with a motorcraft or buy 2 Precision bearings on ebay and replace them both

You're risking your safety for $200?

well i would like to replace them both thats why im questioning it, i could spend 160-170 bucks and replace both or i could spend 220 and replace 1 with factory part. I just replaced my passenger side axle shaft with a motorcraft part and that was 350 bucks, i wasnt going to use anything but ford parts for that.

my front bearings went up and i got the legit OEM replacement installed and all that for like 600....i had the guy leave the hub in the bed of my truck...spun it by hand and it sounded like sand in a container of marbles
