22" wipers instead of 20" on 02?

2002 Supercrew Lariat 4x4.

Need new wipers and saw that the 97 used 22" while the 02 uses 20". I'd like to use larger if I can for a larger sweep area.

So is there a good reason why using 22" wont work? I dont see any interference issues... only thing that comes to mind then is a smaller/weaker motor on the 02

Thanks

Nah, the motor will handle that, no problem. I've wondered how a little bigger blade would fit, it should but just fit. It'd be an inch longer at each end so measure that on yours and see what it would interfere with if anything.

I've thought the same thing for my '03. The ones on there just seem small. though, I just replaced them so... got to wait a while before trying longer ones. I miss the days of $2.50 refills..... Now $12 is about the cheapest you can get a blade for.

I've been putting 24" on driver's side and 22" on pass side for several years now with no problems. It makes quite a difference over the 20" blades ...

I've been using 22" Bosch Icons on my 03. Work fine, no interference.

Yeah... I looked at the rain-ex ones they are about $20/ea. The new one that is, the Latitude. I ended up with the normal one from rain-ex I think they are around $12-$15.

Great feedback guys... I'll get the 22" - not sure what brand but the new style like the latitude - seem to get favorable reviews...

I have been using 22" on mine for years.. covers much more of the windshield, no problems. In fact, i am due for some new ones and it's been pouring here in Knoxville since last night... i guess tomorrow is either plague or locusts...

I havent had any problems out of them, had them on about a month now I guess. Might try out the latitudes next time though.
