Yea, it's 4 big bolts from what I recall, like 24mm ? Maybe you can get in there without removing that plate then. I may have removed mine to work on something else.

Yeah that sounds about right. Had to move a piece of plastic shrouding on each side to get to them. Just pushed it up. Skid plate isn't in the way at all. You must have been working on the steering because that's the only thing the skid plate is in the way of. I have it removed now and taking it off gave me direct access to the power steering box the pitman/stabaliser arms and all that stuff.

well if your getting access to the pitman arm, and power steering...steering upgrade, or your adding stuff to it for a bigger lift

Thanks Jake, now I know what to grab before I crawl under. That 98 bumpers going in the trash soon. Damn thing is rusted out. It's funny, - rusted from the back side right up to the chrome. The chrome wasn't ripped or punctured, - just no metal left behind it in spots lol.

Looking at the bumper from the front and thru the big hole, there's like a rubber flap inside that you have to remove or push up on. Is that what your referring to ? That's what I was probably thinking of. It's like a thick rubber, fastened in with those Ford plastic plugs. Mines rubber anyway.
