How to tell...

How do you tell if your truck should have come equipped with keyless entry? I have an 02 screw with the anti theft system. I bought the truck used so I dont know for sure if it has it or not. If I lock the truck with the lock button and close the doors, the headlights will flash one time. Anyone know??

turn the key forward and back 8 times in 10 seconds with out starting it and see if the door lock cycles. If the door lock cycles you have keyless entry and just need a FOB or 2

On my truck it would do the cycle but i could never program a keyless entry so i went to autozone and bought a bulldog security keyless entry you can hook it up on anything with power door locks. it was 40 bucks and it came with 2 remotes

That was cheaper than just going to Ford and buying just the remote itself. After you buy it you have to go to their website and get the wiring diagram.

Well, I guess I will checking this out in the morning. I found a thread that said to look under the dash near the e brake. If RKE is installed, there will be a white box with a 5 digit code on it. I will let yall know when I find out.

It was fairly easy to install the only trouble i had was finding a pink and light green wire that controls the unlock.

So after trying the key cycle, that made the locks cycle. I also glanced under the dash and I'm pretty sure that I saw the white box. I think its safe to assume I have keyless entry.

Sounds like it has the CSM installed

Note parking brake to the left side of the picture. Driver's side floor.

Looking up behind dash.
Left side of picture is the ratchet mech for the parking brake.

The 5 digit code on the CSM is for the door keypad if you want to install that.

door keypad Part numbers 2001 SCrew keypad install.
Door Handle is Silver YN color code

Interior album has pictures of the SCrew install, it is slightly different than the SCab & Std cab installs

I have the padded looking cable in the first pic that your finger is pointing at. I only glanced but I'm about 90% sure that I have that white box. Are you selling the parts to do the swap? If so, pm me a price.

The CSM is the white box in the 2nd picture, with the 5 digit number on it.

Sorry, I am not selling those, that is the picture of the boxes I got when I changed my 01 SCrew handle to a keypad type some time back. That is just so I have the part numbers for them handy when someone asks.
BTW : It is against forum rules to post items for sale in the forums. Those types of listings are only valid in the Classified forums. I would not knowing break the forum rules here.
