When I first got my truck, my wife drove it as her daily driver. One day she came home and told me someone had "hit her in the parking lot". I didn't want to argue, but I was wondering how she got hit 4 ft off the ground (see pic below). Years later she admitted to backing into a pole.

$1400 to fix, but you can't tell it was ever damaged ...

So i got some estimates...
I went to one place and it would be 1300 to fix and paint just the silver.
I went to the place we usually deal with and since i know the guy, he said he would cut me a deal. It would be about 1500-1600 to fix the silver repaint the silver on the whole door and box and repaint all the red on the entire box and door. Personally, I think this is a great deal.

I wonder if PTM LineX (in the silver) would be any cheaper then to have it repainted? Might not be your style, but I've always considered getting my bumpers and rockers PTM LineX'd. That unfortunate circumstance you have there would be my motivating factor to go ahead and git'r dun.

I would personally still look into line-x, you never know, may end up being a little cheaper. That is if you like the line-x idea.

Good luck with it man, if it happened to me, my mom would never see the steering wheel from that view ever again.

Even though the paint is damaged try getting a price from a paintless dent guy, they do some pretty good work for alot less than a body shop. The door is the hardest part and the bed can be beat from the inside. With the money you save maybe the line-x isn't out of the equation. It's worth a shot.

IMO both of those prices are way up there. Too bad you live so far, because I could do all the bodywork for you. I wouldn't be able to paint it though. Maybe body shops are just that much cheaper in Texas. I have no dents, but I have gotten quotes on fixing rock chips and little scratches on my bedsides which would be tecnically repainting both bedsides, and most quotes were in the 500-700 dollar range. I haven't done that yet, because I dont wanna spend 700.. but 1600.

I just dont see what would cost 1000 dollars to fix. Most places will just drill a hole in the dent in the bed and pull it back out.. there is a tool for it. Any PDR guy could probably get most of what dent there is out of the door. After that they are going to bondo, sand, seal, and prime it. All that could be done by one person in less than a hour probably. Paint is sold by the quart or half quart and its probably going to be $50-60 a quart. Idk.. just thinking to myself.. they must be charging out the butt for labor or something. Maybe they use really expensive sand paper?

well just to break it down, its 8.1 labor units for repair at 72.50 an hour shop rate so $587.25. 7 labor units for refinish so $507.50 and $432.25 for paint materials and shop materials. Plus tax. Puts it to $1603.35 to fix and paint all the red and all the silver on the box and the scab door.

Wow !! I think I would be talking to some of the employees at the bodyshops and see if anyone of them is interested in a Cash Money weekend side job.

I will call line-x tomorrow and get a quote. If i go this route should i go with silver line-x or black? If i also go this route if the dents just need bondo then i will do that myself to save money. I will see what my dad says when he gets home from out of town tomorrow.

So i called up line-x and got some quotes from them. It would be 850 for black or 1050 for colored line-x. If i go this route i could probably just fix the damage myself. But the negatives of going this route are that i have chrome bumpers.
