You lost me on this one. How does having chrome bumpers cause a problem if you go the Linex route ?

I dont think that the line-x would look good with the chrome bumpers. And I am not going to be keeping the rear bumper, i am either going to go with a roll pan or a painted 08+ Superduty bumper.

If you go the colored ptm linex, then I think the chrome bumpers will look just fine. In fact, I think it would look close to what your truck always looked like. I've read that you have to get fairly close up to even notice the ptm linex.

I like the idea of the line-x but i really don't think it looks as clean as paint.

Get it done right. Bondo is not forever, it WILL crack unless used EXTREMELY sparingly.

So I FINALLY kind of proved that my mom did it today. I went to the parking lot where she was and there was a concrete pole the exact height of the damage on my truck that had silver on it. So i am pretty sure she is going to pay now but only for the silver. If i want the red done too it would be out of my pocket.

Now, as I said, get it fixed right. Fixing it right, a body shop will spend the time to straighten the metal out to the best of their abilities, and only use bondo very sparingly to fill what little they can't hammer out.

I've been in good body shops and crappy body shops. Good body shops, you could almost eat off the floor. In crappy shops, you will be choking on bondo dust. I saw quite a few when I was up in the Chicago area - I had a contract to install wireless Internet on the computers that ran the frame machines. When I needed body work done, I chose the shop based on what I had seen - and I am extremely pleased with the job the super clean shop did. The absolute WORST one I saw was at a Chevy dealer......

1600 dollars . That is rediculous! 8.1 labor units at $72 a hour?? There is no single part of that dent that would take more than a hour to fix. They must not get much business. 432 dollars for paint, primer, bondo, sealer, clear and shop supplies for 1 bedside? They are trying to bend you over.

That is the cheap bodyshop too. The one that we usually deal with that is ALWAYS busy. If i went to one of the other two to get a quote to paint the whole bedside I would literally be scared to hear the results.
