Rebuilding my 8.8 Please HELP
For my lightning swap into my 97 supercab i don't want to waste money by tracking down a 9.75 rear end and getting it installed... my 8.8 is lighter and i can build it just the same
does anybody where i can get a rebuild kit, detroit locker or tru trac differential and different gears?
are these rear ends the same as mustangs of the same year?
please help guys i want to rebuild this rear end right away if i even can

Whatever ratio you choose, I recommend Yukon Gears. I'll allow pictures to explain
Genuine Gears: 2X
Really is a nice paper weight.
Yukon Gears:
Yes these are mine, these are my mishaps, tore up two new sets of Genuine gears, the Yukons were still driving the truck even though the carrier had split, sounded like a fat kid and a donut in the back seat growling when it let loose.
Yukon makes a shim kit to replace the crush sleeve, suppose to also make the pinion bearing more stable as the shims have no ability to distort and allow the pinion to shift.
Girdle the rear, you know that one particular cover like this guy, should add some rigidity and longevity
I've always picked 4wheel parts for the rebuild parts, decent prices and usually help warranty things, though you've gotta watch them they've screwed people over in recent years. I've run the eaton fully automatic locker, I loved it. I do want to do a true-trac in my new axles I'm running.

i just know it needs to be posi and i want it to withstand all of the hp im gonna be throwing at my truck... the rebuild kit will be a must but im not sure about the gears... idk what ones to get.
for tires im not sure yet they will have a 40 or 35 sidewall thickness im guessing... i need to see what the l guys are running for tires with 22's.. can i change my studs from 12mm to 14mm or would i have to change everything to change that...
