some major issues....cooling problems.

so this is the latest problem. from a dead cold start, my temp gauge goes all the way up. took some temps with my IR thermometer.

exhaust manifold- 200+/-
neck for upper rad hose- 200+/-
radiator- 65

temp gauge was pegged at top for about 10 mins before i took the temp. also, going down the road i turned the truck off, coasted for about 10 seconds, turned it back on and the guage dropped a quarter of the way. i watched it rise back up.

also another problem, which probably isnt related. but my heater core is shot. but ever since this problem, when i turn on the defrosters, is BELCHES fog.

You might want to by-pass the core for now, - until it's fixed. Sounds like it's disrupting the system.

Are you sure she's getting hot ? 200 is about normal. Could be your sender. You hear any gurgling after shut down?

Your heater core is goin bad. Block off the heater core and change it. Check your coolant level. It will be low.
