I am just wondering why everybody keeps saying stick to OEM stick to OEM...what is a better after market spark plug that everybody has used? I have a 2001 4.6 XLT if you all are wondering...I just want to know some facts about why people keep pushing OEM

This is why:

"Look Ma, no electrode" !

And - if yer really unlucky:

Bottom line: OEM Motorcraft plugs are inexpensive, nickel-plated, platinum-tipped, are of the correct heat range, run excellent, and tend not to fall apart in use.

Good enough fer most folks. If ya have the burning need to spend $$$ get Denso iridiums (you'll need the IT-16's fer yer specific truck). They are probably the best there is.

Given the above - you may want to leave it alone - they can easily be damaged while regapping if not careful ... but if you do, 0.050" is recommended (see last linky).

Sir - you are bent on turning this into a multi-purpose thread

No - I do not have duals.

For yer exhaust question(s), may I redirect you to this for starters: https://www.f150online.com/forums/ex...duals-not.html

And, please see the sticky linked in my sig for an excellent tutorial.

IMHO - Duals can affect yer low-end if not sized correctly. Maggie catbacks are fine - be prepared for some drone in the 1800-2200 rpm region (a common experience).

Additionally - Have a look-see in the exhaust section - a few folks there know a crapload more than I do on this topic. Duals are a very popular topic.

Buy a Lottery ticket. Now.

You name it, someone on here is running it.

I'll just let the preponderance of the evidence speak for itself ...

Then you already have something in your head that's broken.

Good one Brew!

You all know what I'm running, but I'll not state anything else, since I don't want to get all caught up in a debate that for whatever reason has not happened to me in over 100,000 + miles...
