Pre-wired for fogs?
Pre-wired for fogs?
After searching the forums, I've read that many 97-03 SCREWS that didn't come with OEM fog lamps installed, are still pre-wired for them and all that is required is to change the headlight switch with that of a headlight/foglight switch.
Well, I have a '98 F150 Single Cab 8' Bed XLT 2WD 4.2L V6. I climbed underneath the bumper and have found these two wires on both the driver & pass. side near where fog lights would have been installed. (I have the valance without fog light holes/cut outs btw). I traced the female wire back to the main headlight wiring set, however could not trace the male wire back as it goes up and behind some trim. I took a pic of both sides, and also disconnected the pass. side to show what the female/male connectors look like. I am wondering if these are in fact the wiring for fogs.
I read in another post that the pre-wires have two different kind of connectors (which I'm thinking the male/female?), one for the regular F150s and one for (either the harley or lightning) editions setup - I can't remember which one it said.
I checked my interior fuse panel - I infact do have a OEM fuse (5A) in slot #27 (Fog lamp relay), however, in the power distrib. box (engine fuse panel) I am missing the 15A fuse in slot #9 (fog lamp relay).
Could it just be I need to place a 15A fuse in slot #9 (engine) and buy a fog lamp switch and I am good to go? All replies/help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks man
That really sucks for me though...now I have to come up with another way to wire these projectors lol! I just know on the fordmuscle forum a member has a '98 SCREW and his was pre-wired...just my luck. I was going to run the H3 bulbs it came with sort of as fogs (using the fog lamp switch) so I wouldn't have to hard wire them into the parking lights. Unfortunately, my HID bulbs are from a 9007 conversion kit and I'd really have to come up with a way to run them in the projectors as these ones aren't designed for 9007 bulbs to be P-N-P.
Wish I would've known that when I ordered them!

unless it came with fogs, i doubt non-fogs 97-98 trucks came prewired. you can buy the OEM harness off ebay and buy a replacement light switch too. I was going to do this method but decided to fab up a cheap switch and some thick wiring to the battery and via a relay

Thanks guys for the input! I greatly appreciate it
Yea, if it's to the airbags - I definitely don't want to mess around with them lol
thejake, are the one piece headlights no good? the ones I have now are the 4 pc. set as I read they were a lot easier to align. is this why? they did come with clear H3 bulbs for the projectors and all wiring - just not sure of the best way to wire them up, however my goal was to get projectors I could use my current 9007 conversion kit in (the projectors) and not the halogen reflective slot
