Alright I got some new shocks yesterday, I went with Gabriel Pro guard. The front shocks were surprisingly easy to take out and replace. This weekend im going to do the back but dont know where to jack my truck up from.

Just with the front replaced I can already tell a difference in the ride. Im glad I changed them because I can actually compress my old shocks with just my hands and im not some macho man.

You should not need to rally jack up the truck at all. Bottom mount is easily reached, and you should be able to reach the top even with the wheel on. Just start spraying the top bolt now with penetrating oil. Also see if you can wire brush off any corrosion on the threads each you do hit it with oil.

If you have a ratchet type closed end socket, that is the best. Just not enough room for ratchet and long socket to get the top off. Also be prepared, you may have to cut the old one off. I had to do that with one of my old ones when I replaced the shocks on my 01, and that was when it was only 2 years old.

I know I had to cut one off when I did mine. I want to say it was one of the fronts though... Tough to remember everything, seems no matter what truck project I've been working on I always end up cutting something! Makes removal so much easier! The rears were a pain compared to the front just because of how they bolt. And I jacked up the truck and took the wheels off when I did mine. WAY easier to access everything, I don't understand why you wouldn't do that, it adds another couple minutes to the project time I guess...

good luck
