Dealerships

And the people there can be so useless. I took my truck in for an oil change today and left frustrated.

-When I called to book the appointment I asked if there would be time for a tire rotation or if I needed to book a longer time slot. She said there would be time, and we left it at that. When I handed over my keys to the clerk, the only additional instruction I left him was to set my tires at 40psi. I checked my records and realized I didn't even need a rotation yet. Alas, once it was finished they tried to bill me for a tire rotation that they had done.

-My remote start wasn't working, and I remembered this once my truck had already been taken in. I told the clerk and he said he'd notify the mechanics. He didn't, and when I got my truck back, no one knew anything about remote start issues.

-I had to wait almost 2 hours for them to just complete an oil change.

-When my truck was done, they handed me the keys and a bill and said thank you with no sort of follow up or additional comments or anything. Just an attitude of "pay up and leave."

I just find them to be so impersonal and industrial. All they want to do is pump the customers through as fast as possible and get them to spend the most amount of money possible. No one listens to the customers or asks questions. If they just took the time to ask, explain, and follow up, customers would be so much better informed and content. The counter guys don't know a thing about trucks either, and that frustrates me.

End rant.

I hear ya man. Fortunately I live about the same distance from 2 dealerships, I recently needed a part, went to the one where I bought my truck, and they were just ****s to deal with, so I said screw it, and went to the other one. The one I go to now the guys are great. Ive called them a couple times with questions, and they are willing to help me out, knowing I may not spend money there.

The above statement has me confused. Did you cancel your request for a tire roatation after you realized you weren't due yet and they did it anyway ?
Because if you requested it, then didn't cancel the request, and received a rotation, then of course they are going to bill you for it and rightly so.
I guess I am pretty lucky, I have had great luck with my local dealer's service dept.

I didn't book it, I just asked the receptionist if there was time if needed. She took the liberty to book one in based on that simple question, and then when the service desk created the work order and took my keys, there was no mention that a tire rotation would be done.

They corrected my bill and I got a free tire rotation, but I didn't really need or want one. Now my rotation schedule is messed up.
