So what if I didn't have a wireless unlock keyfob from the factory but I do have power door locks would the buttons ont his remote work? Probably need to buy a module right?

I have the chip in the key and an aftermarket wireless unlock remote.

as long as your truck is equipped with PATS and you have 2 chipped keys, this will work regardless of whether or not you have the keyless entry fobs.

But will the little buttons on the key unlock the door?

That depends on whether or not your truck is equipped with PATS. Power door locks and keyless entry are not the same thing. If your truck was originally equipped with keyless entry and you just lost the fobs, then this will work. However, if it was not equipped with keyless entry and it only had power door locks, then the buttons will not program to your truck because there is no PATS system to program to.
