Is it ok to run the gotts intake mod?

I have a 2001 4.6 f150 and I was reading in other threads that some of the newer trucks ran too lean with a cai and can cause damage. I was wondering if the gotts mod and removed silencer would harm my engine in any way. I know the gotts mod isnt a cai but I was just wondering if I needed a custom tune to use it.

I did it to my truck no issues. The 04+ 3v trucks are having issues with intake mods not the 2v engines really. Maybe if you went with a full blow CAI you might need to tune for it but not the Gotts.
