manual shift knob removal

manual shift **** removal

98 150 bought used with aftermarket shift ball, looksa like poop! made by momo, how does the stock one come off? I think someone might have glued this thing on!!!!

stock one just pulls off takes some force though

I thought my 97' was threaded on. The "****" was the female end and you just screwed it down on the stick shift? However, it's been a long time since I had that truck.

unfortunately its not like that. if it was it would be much easier to find replacements that work. the stock one on mine worked itself loose over the years and could slide right off. now i have a 7 dollar one from oriellys and using ducktape as a spacer to keep it tight and not vibrate off.

8 ball shifter.....its old skool haha

If it's the same as mine (99) take an adjustable creasent wrench under the **** and adjust it till it fits, on the shifter, then take a hammer and hit the wrench up (under the ****) till it pops off. The **** is pressed on the stick and it has splines on it, not threaded!!! I put a Hurst shifter kit on mine. Jeff

My OEM one came off, is a straight-bore design. I put a dab of superglue and it hasnt come off in years
