camper tie downs

i own a 2002 f 150 ext.cab 4x4 sb 6500 gv.will it handle a 1000# camper on brodie heavy duty bed rail tie downs? they dont tie to frame but an rv dealer said i should be fine. should i risk it? I guess my real question is will these tie-downs hurt my truck?

Load up your truck the way you would to take a trip (including people) and fill the gas tank. Go to a truck scale and get it weighed. Subtract the weight from 6500 and that's how heavy a camper you can put on it.

I dont think weight is a problem but am concerned about the strength of the sidewalls of the bed as these tie-downs dont tie to frame.

This is why I posted the link I did, they bolt to the frame.
