there's definitely a lead going to the radio you should be able to tap into, although I don't know how much you can hang off of it. i was going to put a toggle in it because i always drive with my lights on, and auto-dim is a drag in the daytime.

Woopig, I think you should be ok hooking up to a wire for the stereo. Do the OEM stereos dim with the dash lights? If so (and if you have an aftermarket stereo) this wire might not even be used. I don't know...I just remember that my OEM stuff has always dimmed with the dash lights and the aftermarket stereos were always of the same brightness.

If you can get the extra couple feet of wire, it should be pretty easy to tap into the fuse that powers the dash lights. Does your Nav console not have any power in it? I did this to get some lights inside my console's storage...but I don't know if your console has a cigarette lighter in it. But if you can get onto the same fuse as those lights, it should function the same.

PS-I always wanted a console/buckets in my '98 STX...hope this helps!

Sounds good. I don't think OEM stereos use that much power so (as long as you're using LEDs) I think you'll be fine using that wire. Just my opinion, of course. I'm no electrician...but I would say that the worst case is you'd have to put some electric tape on a wire if it didn't work.

I think the blue/black is your best bet. That will give you 12V when the key is turned on. I don't think that'll dim...but I don't even know if LEDs will dim anyway.

Good luck and I look forward to seeing pics!
