First off, I will start with saying that I do wear my seat belt at all times when I'm driving on commuted roads. However, there are times when I'm using my truck for recreational purposes on roads\areas less traveled and I'm constantly jumping in and out of the truck. So disabling that annoying chime has been a huge benefit for me.

In my 2002 F150 XLT, I can push the orange seat belt release button once and it will deactivate the reminder. Do this at anytime after you start your truck and you should be good to go

In georgia adults are not required to wear a seatbelt while driving a pickup truck. Pretty weird huh? They can't ticket you for it. Minors have to be wearing their seatbelt though.

alright people i figure out how to PERMANENTLY turn off that extremely annoying seat belt beeper finally. if you look under the drivers seat there is a 2 wire sensor you can unplug. unplug it and you will never hear that stupid beep again. it was the only sensor under my seat but i have an xl so not sure if it will be the same with everyone elses.

Geez - I just read a thread on this - maybe on another forum. As I posted there or here or wherever it was.... Here's the Seatlbelt Chime for Dummies way to do it...

Go to the dealership and get a FREE seatbelt extender. It's about 6" long with a buckle on one end and the belt clip on the other. Clip it in place into the driver's seat belt anchor... not the belt, the anchor -- where you normally hook the belt. The system sensors now think a belt is conected and the chime is silenced.

Simple, easy and should be FREE. Works on the 04-08s and I'd bet any other truck.

I knew I had just read another thread here - it's just a few pages down:

Turning off cabin chime ??? (Multi-page thread 1 2)

To be fair - this one is posted in 97-03 and the other is in 04-08s, but there it is.
