Looking at another Truck, Need help
its a 97 F150 with the 4.6, I called him and he said that there is no dents and no rust beside the underbody. Minnesota winters. The Ac doesn't work. Any common problems and what could be wrong with the AC

I have to agree with glc.
KBB puts the truck at $3335.00 in "fair" condition on a "private party sale". That is assuming it is an XLT with a tow package and no A/C (since it is broken).
Assuming the A/C is fixable and the trucks condition is as the owner describes. $3500 would be a fair price.

They have also listed it as "asking"... so it's not like you have to pay the full asking price. Go do some tire kicking and negotiating if you really like the truck. It would be another story if they listed it as "firm" or "no low ballers", etc.

salt is deadly up here i would check the whole truck over suspension, control arms, brake lines. Granted it is a 97 and will have wear and tear but you need to look at the cost of repairs if it needs work you can negotiate that into the price.
I paid 4900 for mine about a year ago with 99,000 miles, good working ac, no dents and only a little under body rust being it was a NJ truck for reference. I'd say 3,500 is a good price to start figuring it may take a couple hundred to get the ac working
