my project. and first post.

first off id like to thank this forum, for the info it gave me while i was researching things to do
special thanks to thejake89 aka midnight 4.2 aka mr. texas my inspiration. lol

got this truck for 2500$

runs great, good interior, good body

5.4 triton v8. i baby it (under 2k rpm) because im weary of transmissions and gas prices, but i like knowing i have a little power when i need it. ill mostly be using it to haul my four wheeler to tracks and whatnot.

cheap (wavy but not cracked, not faded or chipping) paint job.

i got it black with the tinted windows

did these few things within the last week, got it for a good deal so i figured i could spend a little money on it.

did the gotts mod first off.

painted the side molding black (had chrome line in middle of it)

my first haul! rims, muffler, bumpers/grill

old bumper and grill (grill was cracked)

test fitting cragar soft 8s (had to use spacers as they hit the caliper)
ended up taking the rims back because i couldnt justify adding that much additional rotational mass. cant wrap my head on it. lol

dont know what im gonna do with this yet. but its gotta get something.

old front end for comparison

new front end, with painted work steel bumper, painted grill.
i personally think it makes the front end look a little more "tougher" or "meaner" im happy with it.

painted used steel back bumper.
camera didnt like the lighting outside for some reason i couldnt get any focus.

in this picture you can see what i was going for. pretty much all black.

and i know i know. the headlights are killing it. but im keeping it budget for now.

exhaust pipe. i jsut kept it 2.5, got rid of stock muffler, and put dynomax in. gonna get a tip and it will look right.

few interior

front. im happy with it overall

only one small rip on pass seat (not pictured) very good condition for 10+ years.

back seats hardly used (took me 3 days to explore enough to find they fold down for cargo room)

all i want soon is wheels. i want something either black or can be painted black. and either have tires or 16s i can swap my tires onto.

may keep looking for a pair of the steel wheels like thejake89 had/has that he painted black. they look good black, but they ones on my truck wouldnt look right black. wish there was an aluminum 16" wheel close to the style of soft 8 and price (60$ each) i could find and complete my truck.

anyway. thanks for all the info on this site.

i like trolling but im registered now so i can chime in my knowledge and opinion here and there

I'm sorry about the difficulty with your first post. When the first post by a new member contains several pictures, it gets trapped by the spam screen until a moderator releases it.

Nice truck and welcome to the site!

Welcome to the forums. Your new front looks sweet. I suggest some ebay Lightning style heads to go with it

Nice looking truck, and you've already made it look sick by painting the bumpers and having your back window trim painted.

Welcome to the site. glad i could help out and the new painted bumpers look good.

to answer your wheel questions. i have alloy wheels painted black now but i had factory steel wheels that were dull black and i painted satin black and now i have black steel crawler wheels waiting to go on.

trucks got alot of potential and the interior is very clean
