Help please fuel pump replacement

i am haveing hell with changeing my fuel pump right now i droped the tank on mine and rased the rear end but still cant get all the lines off the tank and drop it down far enough without stressing the fuel lines not enough room for my big *** i guess. im at the point now where im going to let the tank hang and rase the bed dump truck style. how heavy is the bed ? do you think two people can rase it ? and is there anything i need to watch out for thats not ovious while lifting the bed ? will the fuel disconnect tool you use on the fuel filter work to disconnect the tank lines? i know it has two sizes on it. im sorry for so many questions but i have never done this before and want to make sure its done right the first time. plus this is my only driver and my mother wants her car back ASAP LOL!!! any help i can get would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I did my 1998 with out bed removal. Just proped the tank on some blocks enough to get my hands over the top. The vent lines (there are 2 of them) are barbed fittings and gave me the most trouble. If you twist them enough, they will come loose. The fuel and return lines are the same as the fuel filter, you will need to insert the release tool to get them off.

The bed is not heavy for two people, but since you are half way there from doing it from te bottom, I would continue.

That's crazy, - you don't remove the bed for a pump swap. I pull mine every other year just to clean the sock. It's cake, very easy. I'm not sure what your having problems with ?

Their twist locks. You need WD40 and a screw driver to work into the seal. But! You only need to remove the very rear vent completely, - to siphon the fuel before you start, is it to late lol.

Drop the tank down enough/ pinch and slide hose clamps back/ take an awl or a pik of some sort, slide between the hose and vent connect, just a little. Now give it a shot of WD40 and work the hose loose with the tool you using/ Pull the hose from the vent.

i am haveing trouble getting the tank to drop far enough down to get the vet lines and fuel lines off still think it would have been easyer to take the 6 bolts from the bed off and rase it up however i am half way there now with the tank drop. and 4x4 = more room to work
and if it was a cake walk for you your first time your a better man then me.

Nah, it was easy, - First time I used two jacks, - second and now I use just one , - maybe. Tanks light when empty.

Inside the tank after cleaned -

Pump serviced -

Vents -

See that little rubber section below, - that's where they can split -
