2 row radiator problems...
Well I got the 2 row radiator in my truck (flare trans connections) but my factory radiator has the stupid ford quick connect trans lines! and I cant find a adapter from one to another... So until my superduty trans cooler comes in I bypassed the cooler inside the radiator and just ran it to the small factory trans cooler. Do you think it will be ok to just run the superduty cooler, and not have it go in to the radiator aswell? Ive been going back and forth on if it would be cooler, or hotter not going into the hot radiator...
Judging by your picture, you spend some time in extreme cold??? Going through the radiator serves two purposes, one of which is a little bit of a boost in temp in the winter to try and keep the fluid from being too cold.
I have your same set up...the 250LD radiator and cooler for quite some time now. My personal thoughts are in the summer I think you'll be OK. But the winter, I would personally want it through the radiator. That new tranny cooler you're getting is pretty gosh darn efficient. I've seen cold mornings (and when I say cold, I only mean 40-45 ish) where my tranny temp didn't even warm up enough to register on the gauge that starts at 120. IMHO, that's too cold. You could also install a tranny thermostat off a '04+ truck in the cooler lines. I just moved to IL and I'm thinking about doing that this winter. That'll definately keep it from running too cool.

good point on the cold... Ill be back in Wyoming in the winter, Ill either have to block most of the trans cooler off, or get the thermostat (which is probably do because I saw my truck thermostat said -20*f one morning!)
I have to say though I love the 2 row radiator! my e fans come on ALOT less!
