New Bumper FTW!

Well yesterday i picked up my new bumper, to my surprise it was not chrome but it was in fact painted! Instead of $150 i got it off of them for $100.

So, I am replacing this....

With This.....

Old Bumper Off...

I believe that the one bumper bracket is bent so i will have to go get a new one...

Gave It a quick coat of rustoleum cuz i wanted to get it on the truck...

On The Truck!!!

Today I am going to go down to my bodyshop and get it booked in to get it painted silver.

Also on my way to pick up the bumper (1.5hr drive) my pass side taillight flew off the truck... So i am gonna go down to ford and order me some 08+ Superduty Tails!!!!

Update.....

So, I ordered the superduty tails from ford and Jake they are 67 bucks a piece....

I also got a couple estimates for getting the bumper blasted and painted...

300 bucks from the body shop we usually do business with

500 bucks to get it line-xed silver...

I am going to the city tomorrow and am gonna see if it will be cheaper to get it done there....

Patman- I need the driver's side bumper bracket...

What does your passenger side bracket look like compared to the drivers side? Because thats what my driver's side bracket looked like when I did my 99+ swap

It Looks like it is pushed in and a little crooked, the Driver's side tow hook is crooked as well as in the pic.

Another Update...

Well, while i was in the city today i got probably 10+ quotes to paint the front bumper. 9 of them said the bumper i got from the wreckers isnt worth fixing. The quotes ranged from 400-750 using the wreckers bumper.
I got quotes on new bumpers as well the cheapest being $160.
The ford dealer body shop quoted $250 for brand new and $200 to paint. I am thinking i will see if I can return the wrecker bumper and minus the restocking fee i will get $80 back. Then get the $160 bumper from the one bodyshop and get it painted at ford for $200 for a total investment of:
$50 - gas to return the wrecker bumper
$160- new bumper
$200- paint new bumper
$50 - gas to get to the city to get the bumper done.
total- $460 minus $80 refund from wrecker bumper
Total Investment of: $380 start to finish from where i am now.
Seem like a good deal?
