Carpenter's SVT Lightning Conversion Thread
Yea, I would as well. Not sure where these guys are finding them. I can't recall his user name, but another guy in Texas just purchased a Lightning engine recently, - totally re-manned professionally for $3,000. That was a deal and 1/2 for sure. I think he's going to post his up in the near future here.
Anyway, average price for one in good condition is around $5000.
A new 2003 lightning motor that I bid on a few years ago went for $6700. I went as high as $3800 before I backed out. It was a nice engine tho.

I picked up my complete 01L top end kit minus the throttle and cruise cables for $1400 plus the ride and it only has 45000 miles on it. I even got a bunch of crap I dont need like clutch fan and ecm.
I like the OP's idea of keeping the actual build in one organized section because if anyone wants to reference this thread they don't need to read through a bunch of useless pages like on built54's and klitches threads. The good info is hidden within over 100 pages and you really have to look for it.

I know...sorry I'm so slow on uploading pics. Can't seem to find the time in the middle of the day. Luckily the weekend is here, so I'll be updating alot.
Also, I'll bump this thread up every time I update something, so everyone is informed that progress is getting made.

I agree 100% its a pain in the *** to have to read through 20 -30 pages of comments just to find the updates. Like in the picture threads could just be me but i want to see the pics not ten comments of people saying "wow that looks great." lol I'm in the middle of planning a similar build but I'm going 4X4 cause its snows in NY. Can't wait to see more keep it coming and good luck and the hell with the flamers some people spend all their time posting and no time building.
