Maybe a tomato cage put upside down??? Lighter than a sawhorse. More stable than a broom handle. And probably <$2 at Walmart. You might have to wrap the tips with duct tape or something so they don't poke through your cover. Just my two cents.

Nice truck, by the way. Glad you're protecting it!

Ha, I have damn near the same exact cover for my truck and it's covered mostly all the time in the yard. I take it you don't have a tonneau cover? I'm surprised that thing doesn't fill in every time it rains. I'd think unless you are able to tie that cover down tight, it's going to fill in with water no matter what you do. I think you need a tonneau, even if it's a cheap one just for when the truck is covered.

Personally, I would take full advantage of this situation. You said you have a "hot tub" in the bed, so...

Just route the exhaust up into the bed, under the water and let that puppy idle for a while and you got you one Grade A, P-Magnet with a full function hot tub. To hell with keeping the water out!

A cheap little pop tent might work -

Looks a little fruity tho, -just cover it up fast..

I found one of those exercise ***** in the attic the other day, brought it down and was going to give it away. Just looked at it, - it's new, still in the box and it even comes with a pump lol. It's only 22" x 44" , but with an air compressor, I bet you can pump that thing up allot larger.

Ha, I like the tent idea. I have a lil 2 person (well really a one person) back packing tent. I have taken it camping in the winter months and actually set it up in my truck bed when it snowed. Beats laying on the cold, wet, snowy ground!

The cheapest thing would be to lay a 2x4 at the base of the tailgate and the lean it on the back of the cab, protect the paint and the cover though.

Use a smart car, just stick that in the bed and slap the cover over both of them. that should be the perfect size.

Thats what I was thinking reading this tread, All you need is the fiber glass rods to go from corner to corner like an X take apart when not useing, takes up very little room!

Make a little PVC frame that's higher than the tail gate but lower than the cab. Don't glue it so it can be taken apart and stored behind/under the seat. Then you can use it where ever you want, not just at home.

+1 like he said this could be a god send

I haven't ever owned a custom fit cover but just a question, will it fit with the tailgate down? just a dumb thought

Yeah I would just cut a piece of plywood the size of the bed and slide it under.

That won't work

You would need a sheet 6X7 to be cut down to 5.5 x 6.6 or .7. So where induhhell would you get a sheet of 6X ? Just curios...

Okay, so maybe it would take two sheets of 4X8 cut to fit, with a seam. That might work for awhile, but still, they would eventually warp bad enough to create another problem. That's why you have nail that stuff down, -just sayin.

Gator should spring for a nice tonneau for that truck. One that will work for him. There's some nice ones out there. I'll bet he already knows this

But....There's another alternative, if a covers out. A Patio Umbrella. They go thru a hole in a patio table right ? And fit into a heavy metal type stand. They also crank open and closed. It's wide enough to work and adjustable via, - Dcrank. I bet height could be modified easily.

Where the hell is Gator anyway ??? Oh, I know, - never-mind
