I searched this and saw threads about lightnings and drag trucks. I decided to see what it takes ALL F150s to get up to 60MPH from a dead stop. I have a '97 that is for the most part stock. The only power modifications are shortie headers (I know long tubes are the way to go) and a little bit of Superchips modification. It has the 4.6L V8 and stock 3.55 Limited Slip gears. Its 0-60MPH time (on the highway, from a stoplight) was 11 seconds. I was thinking for a truck that old, that was pretty decent. Once I start mods, I'll be sure to re-take the time. How about y'all? I'm curious to see everything from big lifted 4WDs to grandpas old F100.
thats not bad at all, i have a 5.4L with 6 inches of lift with 35" tires and all i have is a flowmaster exhaust and i do 0-60 in 12 seconds ( give or take a little) i did 4 runs and the average was 12.
back when my truck had 163k on it i counted right around 9 seconds? and that's on the 87 gas mileage tune, k&n cai, and exhaust, and not to mention i'm 4x4 ext cab with over 200lbs of added weight.
in the video my exhaust screams because of a crappy weld on the tips.

It's nice to know my old '97 extended cab can still compete somewhat close to most other trucks. Whenever I stumble upon some money I plan to completely do up my exhaust, CAI, and re-gear to some 4.10's. Hopefully that will knock my time down some. Just curious, how much will going from 3.55's to 4.10's reduce my top speed? I've never hit my top speed and I don't plan to, I'm just wondering if I can still keep around 80-85.
mine was just under 9 the last time i timed it. and that was right after i had my tranny built

Just check my last time slip from '08.. 1/8 mi time a tick over 11s @63 mph so I'd have to guess my 0-60 is prolly 10.90s-11:00s. I haven't been to the track yet with the new gears so that should come down a few ticks.
Around 8, maybe even under a bit. I'll say 7.5-8. I'll get an official time when I get home and can check my speedometer with the GPS and get a good timer on it. I know I have a few vids on my phone of around or just under 8 that can't be off by much, level ground from a dead stop. Sounds a bit closer to my64falcons times, but without a tuner
Thats in a 99 with 00 low mileage 5.4L 4x4 SC on stock 3.73 gears, 125k on the tranny and 12k on the motor running 33x11.5 (7 ply?) coopers, 87 octane. Gotts mod and maggies are only mods. I'll post some videos when I get home today. Sounds like some of you need a tune up.

You guys are weak. Intake, exhaust, 4.10 gears, and big wheels and tires im tryin to beat my last time of 3.5. Corvette ZR1s never wanna roll with me.
Oh and I did have a dynomax decal on it then, so maybe adding another one ill have a better time

One of my headlights is cracked so that probably slows me down by a bit, but it's made up by the aerodynamics of the billet grill. Data logged and proven better air flow and cooler temperatures that can add up to 70hp. With a good wax job I can shave another 2 seconds off my 0-60 times but can't afford a buffer. Oh, and I let my tailgate down (even though it was busted by mythbusters but I think theyre lying) so that's what brought it down into the 7's.
On a serious note. Im gonna go check my speedo with a gps real quick and make some new runs on the much dryer pavement today. Get some vids and post them.
Well it was dry. Gotta love Oregon. Gps sais my speedo is pretty much dead on, even with the added 33x11.5 (actual is more like 32.7x11.4x17) It held the same speed as the speedometer. No traction right now though. Maybe in a bit.
