Unhappy New user, need a little help with my dash lights!

Okay, first off, i'm really excited to find such an active community of F150 owners, gives me a little more of a sense of pride in what I drive...

Now to the problemMy dash lights have went out and I can't figure anything out... They went out at the same time, along with my A/C control back lights. Anyone ever heard of these all burning out at the same time? Or is it more likely a short? I found a how-to article on here on how to change the color so I think I am going to do that, but I want to make sure they will still work then... Here are some pics, sorry they are blurry, they are from my iPhone.. The left hand side of my lights are out... Any help is greatly appreciated!

Welcome. I would think if there was a short, they would all be out and not just random sections. Pull your cluster out and try replacing the bulbs and go from there. Bulbs are the cheapest and easiest things to try first. If you don't want to buy any bulbs yet, you could probably swap a bulb from another part of the dash that works (top of the speedo) into the section that doesn't work. If it works than you shouldn't have a short.

My panel looks pretty much the same way. I'm pretty sure it is individual light out. Just pull the panel and check them out.

lol...

yeah, lol... i got gas today, im bad to run on about a 1/4 tank all the time and hate filling it up lol... I really appreciate the help and ill for sure check the bulbs today... Ive cleared the CEL more times than i can count... it just keeps coming on saying that the EGR valve has insufficient flow even after i replaced it... ive heard that its pretty common for this model to do that? hopefully im not wrong lol..

You either have a vacuum leak, stoped up ports in the intake manifold, or a bad dpfe. Yuo can use any of those terms to look up a how to fix it. I have plenty of links, and how to I can provide you when you're ready to fix it. I have those systems down pat. You don't need to ask me why

It's a much better idea to run on the top half of the tank rather than the bottom half.
Then, other than the initial fill, up you'll put in the same amount of gas but not risk running out and, if you're in hot climate, the additional fuel quantity in the tank will help keep the fuel pump cooler.

There are many writeups on this. It is easy to do but time consuming. The whole cluster must come out. The article you referance shows how to do that. Search instrument lights for more threads
