The winds of change blow again!!

I have not done anything to my truck lately and I have been itching to change my interior color from the gray to black. Just curious if anyone has done this or not? And any suggestions for interior mods would be great!! 03 FX4 SCREW is the project.

What do you want to go black exactly? I've painted parts of my dash black to look like the lightning dash that came stock 2 tone. But I know blackedoutv6 has done his whole dash and pulled it for painting.

I'm going with a black and grey theme so go the black floor already and gonna ger some black and grey seat covers soon. Hope this helps some haha

how much are you wanting to change, it will get really expensive if you're planning to do everything, seats, dash, carpet, doors, headliner, other trim pieces etc

My Driverside seat has a tear in the bottom cushion so I will be getting those upholstered soon and I think I will be turning them black. And the intent is the whole thing. Carpet, headliner etc. I know it will probably get pricy but I wonder how much of the dash pieces I can paint and have them look good.

you can have the headliner recovered if the core of it is still good, and you can get fairly cheap carpet.

Contact Lee at Latemodelrestoration.com (call them) and see if they can get carpet for your truck.

dash can be repainted, as well as the door panels assuming they are in good condition, you might have trouble with the "vinyl" parts of the door panel, and center console arm rests, but other then that should be fairly easy.

order a black steering wheel if you dont have one already
and last but not least order a set of black seatbelts (probably your highest cost)

I feel like people always forget about the seat belts.

Might want to think about keeping the headliner grey. Ford black interiors still had grey and might look more oem

Sorry for the late reply, I am in AZ on vacation and yeah those seats are awesome!! Thanks for all the feedback. Thanks for reminding me about the seatbelts, probably would have forgotten them. How hard is it to change out the steering wheel?? I have done ones without airbags and they are cake. Does the Air bag make it harder?? Also gotta do the visors!!

airbag is pretty simple, disconnect the battery, wait 5-10 minutes, and then there are two phillips on the back of the airbag, those come out, a few connectors then use a puller on the steering wheel like normal.
