What the heck is this in my spark plug well?

Anybody know what this is? I've never seen anything like it and can't get it out.

The plug wire came off 100% in tact...this is what was under it?

I think it's one of those rubber pieces that goes inside a spark plug socket I guess the previous owner thought it would be a good idea to leave it in there....now I gotta figure out how in the hell to get it out!!! I have no idea how I'm gonna do this it's in there pretty good.

Stick s small screw driver between the rubber and the plug then squirt some WD-40. Try not to get it outside the rubber then stuff a deep socket over it that fits kinda tight. Turn both ways so it spins then pull. If it won't come out with the socket then use either long needle nose pliers or 2 stiff wires with hooks bent on the ends.

Or-----FIRE!!!. Just kidding about the fire.

LOL. that sucks, someone left that in there. Might be burnt on there.

Get one of those dental cleaning picker kits things, they make some for automotive cleaning and what not. Long handles, thin profile and if you find the right kit, has a hook on the end. I think harbor freight has them for about $5

I got that bitch finally! I took a knife and heated the end up with a blowtorch and stabbed it a bunch of times then bent the tip of the knife and worked it out. I know that sounds retarded but I tried a million other things it was stuck in there really good.

I hate to hijack a thread... but, a while back I changed the plugs on the 4.6L in my wife's explorer. There was one plug that I couldn't get the socket to fully go over. I finally lost my patience and took a hammer the the extension to force the socket onto the plug. Turned out that somebody had left a penny in the spark plug well.

Dear baby jesus. A flashlight and mirror (if needed) wouldn't have hurt. A hammer? Brave lol.

Ricky bobby is that you? lol. Tried the flashlight and mirror. I could see that something was there but I couldn't get to it. The socket barely fit on the plug. I just needed a little more... Not the best idea I know, but it worked out.
