Thumbs down My ac stinks

My ac is starting to get a kind of moldy musty smell when I first turn it on then it goes away once I start moving I checked under the wiper blades but nothing is there either. Anyone have any suggestions?

The smell comes from moisture sitting the hvac box after the vehicle is shut off. The moisture lets bacteria/mildew grow. I always shut off my ac and run the vents full blast for the last 30 seconds or so of driving, just to dry out the system.
To get rid of the smell there is a spray that can be used to kill the bacteria/mildew. You put the vents on recirculate, spray the can under the dash into the recirculate area, shut off the system and let it sit for 10-15 minutes then you should be good.
When I used this product I was mechanic at a GM dealer and the spray was a GM product, but I'm pretty sure you can get the same type of thing at any auto parts store.
Hope this helps.

You also might want to find out if you have a cabin air filter. But every hting that norseman said is right.
