sohc to dohc head swap ?
I currently own a 2002 F-150 with the 4.6 in it, I bought heads and intake off a lincoln mark VIII, I would like to know if there is any information out there to make this swap, what all do I need for electrical, so that it will match up with my current ECM. I am not in a big hurry to do it, the engine runs good now and handles everything I need it to do, but I would really like to make this swap, any info would be helpful.
you need more parts than what you have, you need the timing cover and related accessories, exhaust manifolds and a new exhaust mid pipe set up, you also need to tear your motor apart and replace the pistons with the higher compression ones unless you are going to be running boost at the 8.2-8.3 compression ratio you'll have after the swap, and if you're gonan be running boost the stock cast pistons are not a good choice anyway (feel free to ask me how I know
)
you also need the wiring harness for the 32 valve or you're gonna have to modify your existing harness, plus you'll need the 32 valve COPS
your current ECM will need to be tuned for the better flowing heads and you need the 24# injectors at a minimum
