Looking for some information

some of you have seen the thread i posted, where i put tie downs out of an 02 truck into my 97 to replace the god awefull originals. (if not look through my pics for the finished product.

anywho, i posted up a simmilar thread over on tractor forum because i thought some people might find it useful over there as well. one guy chimed in that the 97 he had had, had the same tie downs that i had put in which were also the same as the ones in his 03.... here is the odd part: his truck had them when he bought it.... back in 98 or 99. and he knows the original owner and knows for a fact, that he never changed the tie downs..... so my question is, WTF??? would this have been a dealer option or maybe one of the truck plants used the (newer style) tie downs while the others used the (older style) tie downs? any input is greatly apriciated, as this has me really scratching my head.

No clue but I need to do exactly this. I can't stand mine now, pretty useless if you ask me. Tried getting them from the dealer? Nope, just have the ones I got so I gotta look around for a 2002 or newer bed to thieve from.

i just went in and acted like i had an 02 that i needed them for and they ordered me a set.. the mount spacing is the same so you can bolt them right up. with mine, i had to remove the old bolts, and come up with a new method of mounting them, because i couldnt use the original hardware.
