well, i am finding out another noise that i have been hearing from my truck. seems to be a buzzing noise when in drive (under a low load...slowly accelerating) and once i put it in reverse (whether driving or just sitting there with my foot on the brake). my technician had went on a test drive with me & then put the truck up on the lift & it seems like the buzzing noise is coming from the transmission/trans lines. you can actually touch the metal lines & feel them vibrating. but when you put the truck in neutral or park it stops. he has never seen anything like this before. when i searched buzzing noise from transmission, nothing came up. has anyone heard of something like this? or give me any pointers on what else to check out?

Mine has a "rattling" noise under my truck when it idles sometimes or when in drive\reverse, but with my foot on the brake. Sometimes I hear it when I hit a big bump in the road and my windows are down. I thought maybe it was a heat shield or something. I've looked around briefly when I'm under there changing my oil, but I haven't found anything. It's not bad enough for me to be too concerned and I expect my 8 year old\115,xxx mile truck with mostly all original parts to have a few rattles I guess.

Let me know what you find out, I'd be curious if mine is doing the same.

 

yeah, i've definitely come to expect some noises from my truck, but this one is kinda new. mine isnt a rattle but more of a buzzing. i just didnt know if anyone else has experienced anything like this. it's definitely buzzing & definitely coming from the trans lines (i felt & heard it). i have access to something called Identifix, where technicians post problems that you can search & get ideas from confirmed fixes....but there was nothing matching when my problem was searched. closest match had to do with a buzzing from the steering column.
