5.4 Vs 4.2
why is that timmy guy on here?! he seems to be ghey for f bodys...
And if ran a 16.9 with my truck, I would not be posting it up... EMBARRASSING. Im going to say it again... my truck isnt fast, and I dont care. If I wanted something fast I would get a motor-scooter .

Remember my comment about Hennessey or Ligenfelter getting their hands on a GT500? Well, it's not Henn. or Lig. , but it's a tuner equivalent to them...600 hp. hennessey challenger? pshh...800 hp. Ligenfelter Camaro? HA! Try 1000 hp. out of the Ford GT. Same motor as the GT500, so don't comment on that.

not trying to stir anything up but check this out. this was a small conversation between me and a guy on youtube about the 4.2L..other guy's name was changed to protect the stupid..
ME-3 months ago at video poster-yeah my 08's 0-60 is about 9.2 seconds and i ran a 16.9378@81.66mph with just a K&N intake. reg cab shortbed 3.55LS 5 speed
DIFFERENT GUY-1 day ago @timmypstyle i think its a little faster than that. my 08 4.2 has k&n filter with air box removed and dual exhaust and mine runs 0-60 in 6.7 seconds.
ME-today@DIFFERENT GUY you are full of crap dude. your intake and exhaust only adds maybe 10hp to your truck if that. and thats 210hp in a 2wd truck that weighs over 4000Lbs and you are saying it is just as quick as a 210hp AWD eclipse turbo that weighs like 3000Lbs. dont think so. i know people who have what you have plus a tuner, underdrive pulleys, electric fans and the quickest is still in the mid 7 seconds for 0-60 if that.
VIDEO'S DESCRIPTION-
A video of my 2005 Ford F150, 4.2L V6 going from 0 to 100mph. There is nothing really special done to it. Just normal bolt ons. K&N intake, 25% UDP, Efans, Exhaust (dumped), custom tune. I had to turn left from a stop sign so it took a few seconds longer. Also sorry for the camera bouncing around. Roads not that perfect anymore since the gas rigs sprung up.
And yes for all you people wanting to hate. IT'S SLOW!
It's an '05 reg. cab, auto, 2wd, with a 3.55 rear.
DIFFERENT GUY@ VIDEO POSTER-im not bein a D$%^ when i say this, but you wasted your money on that k&n intake. i have an 08 4.2l f150 and i gained the same horsepower just by adding a k&n intake and cutting the air filter box from around filter. 16 horsepower gain and exhaust got a little deeper
VIDEO POSTER-I wouldn't say I wasted my money. I could have cut up the stock airbox and added a K&N filter. Sure it might have done the same thing but the K&N looks better, IMO then a cut up stocker, and if I ever decide to sell it I can put the stocker back in and keep my K&N. Also how do you know you gained 16 horsepower? Did you get it dyno'd and if you have I would be glad to see the graphs.

yes i love firebirds, they are my favorite cars. i am not a ford lover or hater but I buy them because i always have better luck with them. all my other cars had more problems altogether than my fords did and also the ford repairs cost less. 4 fords-repair cost of about $800 and that was out of 2 of them(78 f150 and 97 ranger). the other 2 had nothing wrong. out of the other vehicles which were 3GMs and 1 Chrysler the total adds up to about $2300 and that is out of 3 of the 4 vehicles. firebird cost the most(1800) including $1100 for a tranny rebuild and my trans am had 0 issues.
to be clear...firebirds/trans ams are my favorite cars. I really hate mustangs but can still be impressed by fast ones or nice looking ones. i have told a few stang owners that they had a nice car, thats just the "car guy" in me. i dont hate any other ford vehicle. i buy them because they are cheaper overall for me to own and i do like them, especially the f150 no matter what engine it has.
also a 16.9 1/4 mile time is not an embarrassing time. especially for a V6 in a fullsize truck. it is still faster than a lot of V8 trucks out there, but it is no speed demon by any means. i bought a V6 because 1-i wanted a manual tranny, 2-if i got a V8 it would have cost about $4k more which i couldnt afford since they added $5k onto my trucks price from my 04 trade in, 3-i couldnt afford 4x4 because of the added price. and with getting about 140 inches of snow per year and not having 4x4, a manual 2wd is the next best thing.
so can we leave out the negative comments and just go on liking our f150s now?
