Where does this coolant hose go?

So I was driving my truck around as a pre-test before I relied on it to take to work and I managed to blow a coolant hose (white smoke everywhere; it was a sight to see). I feared that it was a split hose that I was going to have to replace but I checked it out and this hose came undone from somewhere. Where is the other end? This is an Expedition with rear heat, if that matters...

Thanks in advance!

Looks to me like one of the heater core hoses. But I can't remember where exactly it goes to. =/

Yeah, the end that is still attached goes straight to the heater core. The other end I'm presuming attaches to a hardline somewhere, coming off the block, maybe?

I know that your engine isn't a v6, but maybe it might be in the same place, or approximate, to where mine attached.....but I can't remember where the heck that is! haha. i will check after class.

On my 2000 expy 4.6 there is a tube on the front of the manifold, it looks like that is where it goes.
It isn't visable in your pic but it should be towards the front kinda between the oil filler and the alternator.
Hope that helps!

Heater core return, it either loops back around to an elbow on the back passenger side intake plenum or to the front of the intake.

I think you're looking at this hose. This is where it goes on my 5.4. The hose on the left that goes down.

It was going towards the back of the engine so I'd say there's an elbow or fitting somewhere... thanks guys.
