thermostat and oil pressure guage problems...

Hey guys i have a 97 f150 with an 05 5.4l motor and ive recently ran into a problem... whenever i crank up my truck my oil pressure gauge is fine and my thermostat is all the way down, but after idling for 3 to 5 minutes the thermostat will shoot up to hot and the oil pressure gauge will drop simultaneously.. But if i hook up and after market thermostat my oil pressure gauge is fine but my computer thinks my truck is still cold so im not getting all of my motor... Someone plz help me..

1997 has two temp sensors, one goes to the gauge in the cluster, the other goes to the PCM.

well did you use your old intake manifold when you did the swap? If not then you may not have two temp sensors any more

have you hooked up aftermarket (test) oil and water gauges? If everything is normal on the engine then maybe you're cluster?

not really sure where to start with this. I assume you're running the 2005 5.4 PCM then? original cluster? 2005 cluster?
