Cupholder / armrest pad coming up

I have the 40/60 split bench with fold-down armrest that has 2 cupholder spots and a compartment. The vinyl-covered padding around the cupholders is starting to stretch, I guess, and it's coming up at the edges. I keep pushing it back under the plastic lip, but it just comes back up again.

Has anyone else experienced this? Were you able to fix it, or did the whole compartment have to be replaced? Does anyone know if I can unclip something to remove it and re-glue the vinyl to the lip?

I'll try to take pics later and post. Thanks!

Ya, mines been doing it for years now, actually it's pissing me off now. I'm going to get around to probably super glueing the damn thing to see if it holds otherwise..............?

I'm curious too to see if there is a better solution than good old crazy glue.

Either of you two fix this?

I just pulled of the cushioning hoping to be able to unclip the plastic white base for the cushion so I can glee it well and replace. That said, the white plastic doesn't seem to want to come up (not your standard auto trim clips).

I'd like to know this too, I have this problem in both of my vehicles, The white 99 F150 and the red F350.

I tried again to remove the white trim that is attached to the armrest. It seems like there is no way, even with trim removal tools, to take it up without removing it. Can't seem to find a reasonably priced replacement. It can't be this hard! Maybe it is, this guy seems to be capitalizing on the known issue:

This is not very encouraging. I haven't found a fix for mine yet. The problem is slowly spreading and annoying, but not yet critical. The referenced eBay product looks decent, but the listing said it was for 2004-2010 F150s. If it really gets bad I'll likely search a few local junkyards before buying a new assembly from the stealership.

Sorry, that's my bad, I actually have an 04 and became involved in the thread without noticing. Apparently the problem transcends the different models. Ford, you gotta love 'em for their consistency. Good luck.

Thought I'd revive this thread as my molded single cupholder pad (only on 97-98 F150s) is no longer attached to the center fold down armrest. Apparently, nobody makes a replacement.
However, the center armrest for the 99 on is different and has dual cupholders. It also appears to have a deeper storage compartment. See images below:

1997-98 Armrest with single cupholder

1999-03 Armrest with dual cupholders

So a junkyard 99-03 armrest should bolt right in.

Anyone tried this?
