State Troopers, Metal, and Beer.... O what a weekend

Well for those that dont know, theres this "little" concert every april in a small town in texas called snook. the concert is refered to as chilifest and is one of the biggest morst drunken weekends in the central texas area. so you know what that means..... state troopers are out in full force.

Needless to say on my way out there saturday morning i was wary about them. so i zip-tied my license plate onto my light bar and drove the speed, limit. well on the way out there i got pulled over because a trooper started to follow me cuz the dark tint on the front windows and then pulled me over because my license plate part that says texas was covered by my back-up cam. well i got a warning for the camera and he asked about the tint, even looked at the registration stickers and windshield.

after that literally less than 5 minutes down the road we get to the site. as we drive past the troopers directing traffic (should rolled the windows down) one of the troopers got in her car and hauled but to catch up and pull me over as i was tuning into the field to park. well she pulled me over for the front window tint and metered them at a 9% well since i had just gotten a warning for them and pulled over she also gave me a warning (again nothing about the shield). so i finally park with no tickets

this might turn out to be a good day i think, and we have a great time and drink our few share of beers. other than a sunburn and headache we make it back to the apartments go to the pool and dinner and then hit the sack.

well wake up around 11 and head out to get some lunch and this is where the fun starts.

yup my BRAND new BFG (still has numbbies) is sitting flat on the ground. so me and my buds pull the tire off and drop my spare. go to put the spare on and find out the new lugs dont fit the stock wheel i have for my spare. so the truck had to sit three legged on a jack stand while i drove around to see if i can get my tire fixed.

heres what i was working with, and i got one place to take the tire off the wheel to find this

and well as most can guess its not fixable anywhere today. so i get to try the place i bought it or discount and get a new tire most likely tomorrow morning. this is why i normally always get the certs from discount as the new tire would cost me about 35 bucks not 225 +

being as i need to drive the truck i had to stop and get some oem lugs from oriellys which ran 23 bucks

I hate when its supposed to be a good weekend and bs screws it up!
I turned 21 friday. First, i lost my $170 rayban's. I got pulled over on the way to my party, i was raising hell......I was pissed......next i got into an argument with this chick i've been talking too, we're done needless to say. Started taking shots... After the first 15-20 shots/southern comfort....i realized something....i was ****ed up...i felt better about everything tho and i'm pretty sure someone took my truck out all nite, and im pissed in retrospect about that but not too bad. I think you just need ot get ya a drink, it fixed me rite up!

Just saying things always seem to happen on a fun weekend! lol
Anyway man, sorry to hear about all that, hope you can get that tire taken care of bc that sucks pretty bad. Best of luck to ya!

So, aftermarket lugs will not fit our spares? Guess I'll have to pick up some oem lugs to throw in the tool box just in case.

Last weekend I was driving my wifes Nissan Murano and picked up a 1/2" bolt about 2" long in the rear tire, local tire shop fixed it right up.

Pulled you over because the part that says texas is covered?? They were just looking for any reason to pull you over to see if you were drinking i bet. New years night i was pulled over and given a warning for my tag light. That lights been out for as long as i can remember! I didnt have an up to date insurance verification in the truck and he didnt even care. Im sure he was just checking me out. I hate getting pulled over.

I dont have any idea what that is stuck in your tire but good luck gettin it repaired!!

What I'm really wondering is how something that big even got into the tire in the first place! Not like it's a nail that was standing up... That's a rough break, man.

haha dude you have no idea..yea if "TEXAS" is covered up you will get pulled over.......around here if your license plate isnt on the front..even if its on the dash..you will get pulled over..really all texas law enforcement is looking for is drinking and driving/underage drinking or drugs, ive learned!

anyways jake, sorry to hear that..i had no idea what chilifest was till today or i woulda went..maybe next year!

Chilifest! I havent gone out for like a month to save up money but it was worth it! and my head still
hurts but I guess two days of beer and chili/mcgangbangs will do that. Tomorrow is def a no class day..

That blows with the tire. I got a screw in my sidewall over summer and it was fixed $230 later with a brand new tire!

Try out the shuttle from the hall next year. Thats what I've always done and its an exciting ride after the show
