Truck got beat up today

Thank God for concrete center dividers. Some Asshat driving an import to fast in a turn, in the rain, going over the Santa Cruz Mountains nearly took us out. If it wasn't for the center divider he would have hit us head on. As it is, the divider launched him in the air and we literally drove under him before he came back down in his lane on his hood. The car was several feet over the divider on our side, before it pulled him back over. I saw him the split second before he hit and when he did he sent shrapnel from his headlights, grill, glass and concrete that hit the truck. There was no place to safely stop, so I had to keep going before I could stop and call the highway patrol. Haven't heard yet if he was injured. Guess I'll be calling our insurance company tomorrow and looking for a good body shop.

Hood needed painting anyway.

Good thing the window was closed, or I would have been hit.

Windshield is only 4 months old.

Center post between doors.

Omg that's awful...especially hate to see it happen to such a pretty truck...I guess if you've thought about a custom hood now's the time to do it

Talk about being lucky... Glad you weren't hurt... It looks like a quick fix... On the other hand I can feel the pain when you take care of your rig and something happens beyond your control...

reminds me of when my hood first got chipped, I was driving along following a trailer with a car on it, and without warning the entire back windshield lifted out of the car and shattered all over the road in front of me.

Glad it wasnt serious and should be a minor fix. Have you thought about doing Navigator/Blackwood window trim with the chrome strips?

I'm thinking I'll stay with the stock hood.
Also thinking I'll get the whole truck painted and maybe some ghost flames.

It was pretty scary seeing the bottom of the car as stuff was hitting us.

Wow, crazy story. Reminds me of all those fast and furious movies where they drive under the cars while they are flipping through the air. Glad you're safe and the truck wasn't totaled.

Hwy 17?

I'm glad you weren't hurt or the damage was worse. Gotta love those concrete barriers ...

Found out the young lady driving the car is okay. Spent the night in the hospital complaining her back and neck hurt.
Reported to insurance and they gave us a claim number. Took that to a body shop the agent refereed us to and will be taking it in Monday.

Only $2,580.00
