installing a moon visor

hi all. im installing a lund moon visor on my 98 f150 xl. my plan is to tap the wire into the parking brake lights. My question is, how do i find which wire it is and were is the best place to hook into it (under the dash or under the hood). any advice would be much appriciated. thanks

as tacky as they look, you could either pull up a wiring diagram and splice into the headlight switch in the cab or do the easier route and splice at the turn signal, but using A LOT more wire. personally, I'd do the latter, and just hide the wire as best as possible

I pulled out the marker light fuse, and stuck the wire in with it, and grounded the other end on one of the lower dash bolts, Just run it across the door jam into and down the a pillar and pull off the weatherstripping and tuck it behind the dash, thats what I did. works great....I like moonvisor's, mine looks nice...

thats a number one NO NOwhen running wires, into the cab.. you should run the wire through a gromet thru the firewall..

ok thanks for the advice so you would drill a hole though the cab and run the wires under the head liner and behind the piller to the engine compartment, or what. sorry if this sounds dumb but im kinda confused.

haha, I've never had a problem, and Last ying yang ran it through a grommet and it grounded out overtime and popped half of my fuses...so I redid it with a new harness through the door jam behind the stripping and it solved the problem.......much easier also, no one's the wiser..

Hey, I just came across this and had a question for you about mounting the visor. I found a GREAT deal on one on craigslist. needs painted, but otherwise it's in pretty good shape. My question is this: It didn't come with any mounting hardware...how did you mount yours? did it come with screws or something? I want to take it to get painted and mounted, but I want to at least have some hardware to take with me if I have someone install it for me.

Thanks
