I finally managed to get my truck running after it fighting me for over a month only to discover it was puking out oil from the relocator. One of the hoses running to the filter is bad and as such the truck isn't driveable... I called the dealership (as I was told it was a dealer-only item) only to discover they want $357.62 for the lines! For that price, I'll put the filter back on the block. Is there a more reasonable source to get these hoses? I would like to retain the filter in this location for ease of change but unless I can find good lines in a local junkyard, I'd say I'm SOL...
I never knew that was a dealer option at all. You can buy those oil filter relocation kits from any of several online auto parts places and I think even Autozone/Oreillys/Advance Auto Parts. The kit usually runs less than $100 for everything - the aluminum bypass cover, the new oil filter hookup, hoses, etc.
Even if yours is a "dealer" version, worst case scenario is you remove it completely and install the Mr.Gasket version found online. Best case scenario, you can use the hoses from any of the online aftermarket versions with your existing hardware.

Summit sells them, also parts/hoses the cheapest I believe. Did you try Rock Auto ?
Personally, I'd fish one from the salvage if available, -(almost 270,000 miles on my original set up, -heavy duty). Also try car-part.com for used set-ups close to home.

The remote filter on those years that had them was not a dealer installed item, so I don't know why the hoses would be so hard to get. Did you check anywhere else, especially Rock Auto??

You'd have to pull all the factory parts off and I don't know what's involved with the piece that mounts to the block because I believe the lower radiator hose attaches to that same assembly somehow...might create some headaches or other parts. Haven't looked at one in a while.

Autozone is US only, unfortunately... And when searching auto parts websites, I have no idea where the relocator would be located in the categories. Searching for "oil" never seems to find it...
The one I have has the Ford logo stamped on it everwhere. I'm going to try and see if I can get the assembly off and mount the filter straight on the block for now. Once I have it off I can check and see where the leak is and if I can fix it.

There's a picture of it, so you can see if that's it or not. I'm not sure, just trying to help. I don't know why it's labeled a oil cooler hose since these trucks never came with an oil cooler, so that's why I thought this might be it.

Yes, but at Rock Auto, you choose from an engine drop down. Multiple choice and it's right there lol. You can't miss it once you choose year and model on that site. Makes it easy to find anything. That place has got it together, glad their out there.

Those don't appear to be the hoses I need... although, I do think I have an oil cooler as there's two little coolers in front of the A/C condenser on my truck. I presume ones a transmission cooler and ones an oil cooler?
BTW, the oil cooler lines don't show up for a 4.6L, which could be why I never found them...

replacement oil filter kits
I have a 2003, bought a TRANSDAPT kit.
Got from 'Summit'.
Besides still needing a longer hose so place it in a better position,
and still having to modify/shorten the threaded nipple on the block
so the gasket actually seals completely, the kit works fine.
Yeah, its leaking a bit right now at the block.
Haven't made it to the dealer for another thd nipple yet.
Too easy to add oil once a month.

man that transdapt kit pissed me off sooo bad. I tried to install it but I was too handicapped to get the hoses to thread in to the fitting, then I seen I didnt like where the hose was gonna end up anyway so i scrapped the idea for now.
My Transdapt install was also a headache.
I threaded the hoses to the block connector first.
(Made a small subassembly)
Then I got situated under the truck, and shoved the hoses into the wheel well.
I had my nephew help twist the hoses as I screwed the block connector onto the engine block.
It worked pretty well.
Unfortunately, it didn't completely seal, so I have to modify/shorten the thd nipple on the engine block (as the directions say may be required).
I'll have to get back in there, remove everything, and start over once I figure out details on the thd nipple.
Again, sorry for spinning off the main thread, can anyone reading reply with details on the thd nipple at the block?

My F150 has skid plates and it doesn't look like there would be enough room to get the filter in there, not to mention that the skid plate would have to come off at every oil change.
The dealer replacements are pricey, I was quoted around $200, but I read somewhere that you can get the hoses redone at a hydraulic shop for less.
I'd maybe see if I could snag a hose set at a yard, then take it to the hose guy and get the hoses redone.
If yours is not driveable, then just pull yours off and see about getting it rehosed.
