Expedition Overhead Console

I'm curious if anybody's done this mod. I got one out of the donor truck that I picked up my expy center console and seats out of and I've been waiting to put it in because i really didn't want to cut into the headliner. Well I just got a spare headliner yesterday so i went ahead and started mocking up the cosole to see if it will work. I've got it put into place with a couple of 1x4 blocks to screw into for now and it looks pretty good and sturdy. I got the mounting bracket with and I'm just curious if anybodies done this yet and if it will screw/bolt into the stock roof framing like it does on the expy or if its gonna need some custom work. If nobodies done it yet I'll be the test rat and get it done. So far I'm happy with the way its turning out.

unless you get the long one that has computer display, rear AC controls, two pull down doors, and the dome light integrated on the console

The rear A/C controls aren't integrated into the console, they're in a separate little thingy right behind it... at least, that's how it is in my 97. FWIW

The overhead console mpg meter in my old 02 Expy was always within +/- 0.5 mpg's. Accurate enough for me. I have been wanting to do this too, and have never gotten an answer as to whether or not the F150 computer could support this function. I would think it should they are nearly the same vehicle. Even if it wasnt perfectly accurate it helped me tailor my habits to get the best mpg's.
