Whats the name of this part?

The truck is a '97 F150 4x4. Its on the driver's side, inbetween the CV and the tie rod, and the bottom of it bolts onto the lower control arm. Looks like the top bushing of it fell off and now its loose.

(sorry for the cell phone pic)

yup, thats it thanks! I've got a pretty good squeak when turning and when going over bumps. I'm sure between this and the pitman arm, thats what's I'm hearing when I turn. But could this be the noise going over bumps? Or is that most likely my ball joints

well thats good to know, don't have to worry about it too much then. I remember some of the ranger guys used to talk about disconnecting theirs before they went on a trail, so it makes more sense now.

and yup. didn't know the name of it, didn't know it was a big deal if I didn't either.

nah, only time its been to a shop was to get my tires mounted n' balanced and then for an alignment. Much easier to save money and do everything yourself in the backyard.

At one time in life we all didn't know what that was, now does it make a diff if you are 3 or 53? And the only way to find out is to ask.......

learn everything as I go basically. Its worked doing everything from my body lift, to spark plugs, to brakes. Takes a little longer the first go round, but that doesn't bother me much as long as I get it done right.
