Well after lots of thought and lots of searching I finally made the move. I picked up this 03' 2wd 4.6 last week. I bought my 08 reg cab XL new 2 years ago but just wasnt truly happy in it. I had an '01 4wd that was pretty much identical to this one. I loved it but due to unfortunate circumstances at that time I had to unload it. But here I am, 5 years later, back in an OBS and couldnt be happpier! It only has 73K on the clock and was a very well cared for one owner. Runs and drives awesome! I actually made out very well trading in my 08'. I bought it new in May of 08' for $12,500 and traded it for $11,000. I got the 03' for $1,500 under KBB so I was pretty happy. The dealership thought I was crazy stepping back 5 years but I am in a truck I truly enjoy driving. Just wanted to share the good news here!

Thanks guys! I am happy as can be with it. I am already planning some mods as we speak. On my 01' I had an 18" Magnaflow welded in for a little more note. Probably will do the same on this one. Not a big fan of duals anymore. Guess Im getting old. Gonna do the Gotts mod and maybe the Airaid Jr. Back then I had the Superchips 1715 micro-tuner but I see they dont make that anymore. From the little bit I have read up on here about the tuners, the scene has really changed there. Not really sure which direction to go on that. Any suggestions? Those are some of the main things I plan to do in the near future.

I figured something like this was coming. Probably the only things on your list that will happen is the door windows will be tinted to match the rest. The rain visors on the rear doors may go as well but the front ones will stay. Helps keep the interior a bit cooler in the summer while Im at work if I can open the windows a tick and not have to worry about a passing shower. The bug sheild may go also. Not sure yet. The rest would be way down the road. First things will be a few performance mods.

 

I had the rain guards and they do help, but the tackyness of their appearance made it worth it to take them off.

 

Oh I understand they are not for everyone but will likely stay. Too each their own.

I think I am going to get my Magnaflow ordered next week. So many ideas and but too many other projects!
