ipod control cable placement

Any of you guys using the iPod control cables try running one into the center console? I recently switched from an Ipod touch to an Iphone and I wanna be able to answer calls while driving without the need to unplug the cable

I have mine coming out of the cubbyhole under my aftermarket radio, and if I need to answer a call there is enough cable tucked up in there for my phone to reach my ear. I want one of those retractable one and mount it in there so I don't have to stuff the cable back every time.

heres what I would do in your situation...

Get some type of suction cup/cup holder mount for your iphone. The cupholder part at the front of your console just pulls right up. use a paddle bit of the appropriate size, and drill a hole in the bottom/sides of it (this depends on your mount). Then, mount your cradle, saddle up your iphone, plug it in, and enjoy.
