Anyone using your rig as a camper/expo rig? Post pics plz.

New member, lurked for a while.

Just curious if anyone is using your F150 as a camper/expo rig? Currently debating purchase to setup as one. Post up pics if you are, I am looking to get ideas, and tell me your opinions if you think the F150 would work as such. I am looking at a 99 xcab/longbed with the 4.6. thanks.

4.6 with a camper on your back? Sounds like the motor will be crying out for help, LOL. Just thinking of the weight plus the air drag.

I ran the 4.6 with a 2200# lance camper on its back. the motor couldn't pull it up really steep grades worth a hoot. 5.4 works a little better. a blown 5.4, now thats a HOOT!

Im thinking about puttin one of the smaller pop up campers on the back of mine, maybe one from 4 wheel campers. Im gonna try and keep the weight around 1500 pounds. How do you think that would do? Im gonna drive it on the beach as well as on the road. I have the 4.6 with 35's but im goin to regear before i put the camper on.

500# is a noticable weight difference, if you can obtain a lower CG that'd be great as well.

make sure you buy frame mounted camper tie down kit too, Its well worth the extra cash.
