You must either be a fairly new driver or new to the mid west and not driven in snow much. I grew up and learned to drive in the snow, my birthday is in February so I spent my whole permit time driving in the snow. So for me and I bet a good deal of others, not slamming on the brakes is second nature when fishtailing in less than desirable conditions, getting out of the gas is step one, then counter steer, ride it out.

Totally not trying to be a jerk, hope all works out well and your truck gets fixed or you get a better one

well i am a fairly new driver i have only had my licnese for since june of last year, and we havn't had a winter like this in years no one in the area is used to this type of snow. last year this time it was 70 out and we had no more than 3 inches of snow last winter and it has been like that for about 3-4 years now so no one around here is used to. (we went duck hunting in shorts and t-shirts last year)

and as for my truck i belive the insurace is going to total it becasue it is $3,500-4,300 for it to be fixed and the truck by NADA standards is only worth $4,,900 in average trade in value and $3,775 in rough trade in value. now most insurance companies total a vehical after the damage has gone past 70% of the vehicals value. it is cutting it close and that is with used rocker panel and used rear door.
