Interior black out ideas.
Interior black out ideas.
I have blacked out my truck almost completely and now i would like to start blacking out the interior, but i dont know where to start. I have all grey interior now. im going to put black carpet in, paint the dash trim around the head unit, and black seat covers but what else do i do? any ideas? i wish i could go black with the whole dash, but not sure hoe to do that. Input will be appreciated thanks.
You could do all the dash inserts black and the pillars, then all you'll have left is to take out the dash and paint it. I dunno how spray paint would hold up to the intense sun coming through the windshield though. That would be my number one concern. Someone on here had their dash professionally painted, can't recall who though.
i painted all my interior pieces maroon and black to match my truck and it didnt hold for ****. when i would flake mud off the dash it would pull that spot everytime.
so instead i just purchased harley interior parts. still need a few but thats were i went with this little project

Like brad said. Krylon satin black works great. I've painted mine like the lightnings came stock. The main dash pieces on the driver sideand I plan on doing parts of the door panels also. Maybe seat covers later in black and grey.
Blackedoutv6 pulled his whole dash and painted it black the same way.

i used the fusion satin black on some cash pieces also. held up fine when i had my lightning.

Looks sweet man but how's the glare on the windsheild from the top of the dash? And what about the door panels haha
once again...

stop posting pictures and putting my dash to shame! lol
its probably better than mine, my glare is weird cus the top parts of my dash arent smooth. i imagine the glare would be less annoying if the dash was smooth.

If you look at my gallry your can see what I have done so far. I did mine in flat black and the only place I have had an issue w/pelling is on the pillers when I put them back in they got scratched.
The door panels will get done soon. All the interior pieces will be painted black. I could rattle can it in my driveway and be done tomorrow, but it takes a bit more time/effort/cash to build something that is legitimately show quality. This is not my first rodeo. I had an 84 Chevrolet crew cab short bed on the cover of Street Trucks and the Rearview section of Performance Auto and Sound in 2005. I know what it takes to go beyond the norm. Here are the covers.
